The Manor House is situated on the High Street of Dronfield, in the heart of this small but thriving market town on the Derbyshire/Sheffield border. From our town centre location, we are ideally placed for guests to stroll around and explore the many facilities in the local area, both old and new. From the centuries old original ‘Manor House’ library & the newly refurbished community project ‘Dronfield Hall Barn’ there are many venues of historical interest, nestled alongside more recent developments such as the sports centre with swimming pools, gym, and various sports courts and pitches, plus ‘The Forge’ boutique shopping centre.  There are also numerous local shops, restaurants, and the usual facilities and amenities you’d expect to find in a town centre.

For those wanting to travel a bit further, we are only a 10 minute drive to the magnificent Peak District with its abundance of spectacular scenery, nature trails, historic buildings and tourist attractions. A further five minute drive and you will arrive at The Chatsworth House Estate and Gardens, home to The Duke & Duchess of Devonshire, and one of the UK’s most famous country houses, renowned and revered worldwide.  The hugely popular historical towns of Bakewell and Eyam are about 10 miles away, and numerous other picturesque villages are scattered around for you to explore!

The city of Sheffield and the town of Chesterfield are also only a 10-15 minute drive, and are one stop away if travelling by train.  The Dronfield Train Station is a very short 5 minute walk from The Manor House.   Sheffield is home to the world famous Crucible and Lyceum Theatres, and also to many other sports, music and entertainment venues. For serious shoppers, Meadowhall is one of the countries largest indoor shopping centre whilst the city centres of both Sheffield and Chesterfield are busy, bustling retail areas. Chesterfield’s traditional  markets are situated on the square beneath its famous crooked spire.
